El Musico, is a portrait of the artist’s son. He would like it to “serve as a reflection that teaching tradition is an incomparable value to offer our youth.  The arts are not solely for the privileged but for anyone at any age. The arts console our souls and the music that flows from them, I believe, transcends to the souls of our departed.  Day of the Dead without music is, well, just dead. Our next generation needs to be taught the importance of reverence for Dia de los Muertos and the traditions that our parents taught us.  As our little “Musico” demonstrates, most children are ready and willing to take up that mantle.” OS

Otto’s work will be featured at this years El Velorio exhibit.
